Summit Park Process Advances With Director Appointments

The Rockland County Legislature holds a special meeting at 7 p.m. to vote on the appointment of seven directors to the Rockland County Health Facilities Corporation. That is the name of the Local Development Corporation being formed to oversee the sale of the county owned Summit Park Nursing Care Center.  

The seven members will be appointed to two-year terms ending July 23, 2015.

The nominees, who names were released Monday, are Raymond Sheridan of Orangeburg, Susan Sherwood of Stony Point, Michael Shilale of New City, Steven Yassky of Upper Nyack, Roberta Zampolin of Valley Cottage, Adam Kurland of New City and Magdalena Ramirez. County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef named four of the prospective directors and the legislature named three.

Legislators will also vote on two appointments to the Rockland Community College Board of Trustees. Dorothy “Penny” Jennings of Suffern will be reappointed and MariEllyn Dykstra Donnellan of Valley Cottage will be appointed to five-year terms ending June 30, 2018.
