TZ Bridge Public Meeting Slated for Thursday

Rescheduled meeting at Rockland Community College begins at 7 p.m.

The Community Outreach meeting on the originally scheduled for Thursday, July 26 and due to has been rescheduled for Thursday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Technology Building at Rockland Community College in Suffern.

Members of the New York State Thruway Authority and Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s staff will attend the forum and answer questions.

At in Westchester County, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo launched a new website, www.NewNYBridge.com, for the Tappan Zee Bridge Project as well as a toll free number:1-855-TZBRIDGE. New Yorkers can submit questions and concerns about the project through both options.

The website features videos of the community meetings, a database of all documents created over last 10 years on the Tappan Zee Bridge and a page where New Yorkers can submit their questions and concerns about the project. Hudson Valley residents can also receive updates on the Tappan Zee project on Twitter at @NewNYBridge.

The Final Environmental Impact Statement on the project is slated for publication this week. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was published in January. Since January, more than 1,000 people have attended and 3,000 comments have been submitted about the DEIS.

On Friday, from three build teams interested in tackling the $5.2 billion project.
