Vanderhoef Plans To Stay In Office For Full Term
The county executive denied rumors he will resign early.
While C. Scott Vanderhoef already announced he will not seek reelection next year, the current Rockland County executive won’t be going anywhere prior to his term ending.
Rumors in the county had started circulating that Vanderhoef would resign before his terms ends in December 2013, but he said Friday afternoon those rumors aren’t true.
“I’m planning at this point to carry out my term,” Vanderhoef said.
He added he’s not sure where the rumors are coming from.
“I don’t have any intentions or no plans to go anywhere,” he said.
Vanderhoef is currently in his 19th year as the county executive. This week, current Rockland County Legislators Ilan Schoenberger and Ed Day announced they will both run for the open county executive position.
