The Rockland Community Foundation announced today that for the seventh consecutive year the non-profit organization will provide 10 food pantries throughout Rockland County with $500 ShopRite gift cards, for a total of $5,000. Cards will be distributed in time for the 2013 Thanksgiving/Holiday season.
All local area food pantries are invited to submit applications for assistance. Applications are available at the Foundation's website at http://www.rocklandgives.org/ as well as by mail via request. Application deadline is Friday, August 16th.
"Hunger is a very real issue in Rockland County, and our food pantries are once again anticipating a challenge in meeting the demands of the many families in need during the Holiday Season," explains Rockland Community Foundation President Pat Byrne. "The Rockland Community Foundation is pleased to be partnering with Inserra Supermarkets for the seventh straight year, matching their grant gift dollar for dollar. We are grateful for their on-going support of such a worthwhile cause.”
