New Theater and Fare Collaboration

Samuel Harps has been entrenched in Rockland County theater for a very long time. http://haverstrawlife.com/2012/02/23/a-bright-future-for-local-theater/

He has been the Artistic Director of Shades Repertory Theater in the Central Presbyterian Church in Haverstraw since 2002 www.shadesrep.com.

Recently however Sam decided that in addition to film and local productions there should be delicious food.  He approached Antoine McGuires, just down the street and the two joined together to begin creating wonderful events in the County.

On August 2 at 7:30pm Shades will be presenting Basquiat. Basquiat is a 1996 biopic/drama film directed by Julian Schnabel and based on the life of American postmodernist/neo expressionist artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Jeffrey Wright portrays Basquiat and David Bowie plays his mentor Andy Warhol.

On August 16th and August 17th Shades will be showcasing six short entertaining and provocative plays about real world issues.

For the price of a ticket guests will receive passed hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and dessert by Antoine McGuires Oyster and Ale House.

Tickets can be purchased at Shades or Antoine McGuires.  Advance tickets are $22/Students and Seniors $20.  Tickets the night of the performances and films is $28.

Shades is located in the Central Presbyterian Church on 64 New Main Street in Haverstraw and Antoine McGuires is at 19 Main Street.
