New City residents earned scholastic honors and received degrees this spring

 

Here are the latest announcements from colleges and universities about New City residents who were named to the Dean’s List or graduated at the end of the spring 2012 semester. 

Tiana Bonventre has been named to Alvernia University's Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester. Bonventre is a junior and biology major at Alvernia, which is in Reading, PA. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.

Kelly Barron Named to the Marist College Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester. Kelly Barron is a member of the Class of 2014 and is majoring in Communication at the Poughkeepsie college.

Marilyn Dizon was among 794 students named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester at The College of Saint Rose in Albany. Full-time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for inclusion on the Dean's List.

Daniela P Droguett and Jesse H Toder received academic honors from the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering and Applied Science at Binghamton University by making the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester.

Daniel J Pragdat and Lauren M Tutnauer received academic honors from the School of Management at Binghamton University by making the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester.

The following students received academic honors from the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University by making the University's Dean's list for the Spring 2012 semester: Jacob R Becker, Heather N Bergling, Yitzchak-Dov Berkman, Daniel F Diamond, Amanda N Gurock, Jasmin James, Susie Y Kim, Merlin T Koppara, Amanda N Lampel, Andrew Lee, Jacqueline A Odgis, Michael T Parrella, Julianne A Rocco, Joanne M Rosenthal  and Nicole Z Safran.

Nicole G Fernandez received academic honors from the Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University by making the University's Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester.

Heather N Bergling received academic honors from the College of Community and Public Affairs at Binghamton University by making the University's Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has announced that Jeremy Berman, a junior majoring in management, was named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2012 semester. A total of 1,286 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI's spring 2012 Dean's List. The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Rachel Refkin, class of 2015, was among over 750 students from Union College who made the annual Dean's List. Refkin, a Political Science major, is a 2011 graduate of Clarkstown High School North. To be named to the Dean's List, Union students must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the academic year and meet certain other requirements.

Tufts University in Medford, Somerville, MA recently announced the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester including Kara Goldstein and Lauren Krouskoff, both in the class of 2014

The State University of New York at Potsdam honored upwards of 750 students with bachelor's degrees during its 2012 Commencement ceremonies on May 19 and 20. Jillian Blumberg earned a bachelor's degree in Childhood/Early Child Education.

SUNY Oneonta’s commencement ceremony was held on Saturday, May 19 and the following students graduated: Robert Bardio, Eian Kantor, Jordan Plotkin, Alexa Silver, and Jessica Zerega.

Jasmine Varkey graduated from Drexel University's College of Nursing and Health Professions with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. More than 5,000 students received degrees from Drexel this year at the Philadelphia university's 125th Commencement.
