Eight Schools Without Phone Service

Problems with Verizon phone lines began late this morning in eight Clarkstown schools

Eight schools in the Clarkstown district have had their service interrupted since just after 11 a.m. Verizon service is not available in the following locations: Strawtown, Little Tor, Link, New City, West Nyack Woodglen elementary schools, Felix Festa Middle School and Clarkstown South High School.  Parents or guardians, who have an emergency and have to reach their children, should contact the central office at 845639-6418.

Verizon has not provided information about the cause and extent of the outage and restoration time. The same schools experienced a service interruption of several hours just two months ago on Dec. 18, 2012.
