George Ballane holds a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), and will begin his Doctoral Degree in Education this summer.

Professionally, George is the Director of Technology at a high school in New Jersey.  He has a wide range of experiences in education including leading numerous strategic plans that have enabled schools to enhance their quality of education, facilities, and technology, as well as resolve major financial issues.

George feels strongly that Clarkstown students receive a quality education, infused with technology, so that they are prepared for the challenges of a changing, technological, complex, and diverse world.  It is the responsibility of the Board to make sure that this continues today and into the future.

"Clarkstown School District is in need of change.  It's that simple.  We are faced with many short term and long term issues including the situation related to Congers Elementary School, Common Core, and a budget that is far from balanced.  We can’t accomplish everything overnight, but a solid plan will enable a solid future for Clarkstown," said Ballane.

George cares greatly about the future of the school district and the community.  George, a familiar face to many, due to his involvement in youth sports in Clarkstown as a Baseball Umpire and Basketball Referee, feels that it is extremely important to not close schools.  Quality education along with local community elementary schools attract young families to the district.

George Ballane will be sharing his positions on many other issues over the next few weeks.  He already has provided a stance on a number of issues on his website which can be found atwww.VoteBallane.com.  He can also be followed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/voteballane
