Residents Recognized For Degrees, Scholarships and Dean’s List

Honors earned from colleges in New York, Pennsylvania and Georgia

 

SUNY Oswego awarded merit scholarships to more than 600 incoming students, including $2,000 Merit Awards: Jesse Cohen, who attended Clarkstown Senior High School, and Rebecca Tokarczyk, who attended Clarkstown Senior High School. The scholarship recipients have reserved a place in Oswego's incoming freshman class for the fall semester. The awards recognize students' past academic achievements and potential for success. The $2,000 Merit Awards provides $500 a year for up to four years.

Alexa Quinones was named to the Dean's List at Villanova University for the spring 2012 semester. Quinones is studying Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Dean's List recipients one must be a matriculated full-time student and earn a semester grade point average of at least 3.5.

The following residents have been named to the Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences' Dean's List for Spring Semester 2012: Samuel Ritholtz and Michael Rothbaum.

Rochester Institute of Technology announced the following graduates for the spring 2012 quarter: • Benlin Alexander, who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration from RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences; Alexandra Atzl, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in new media publishing from RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences; and Catherine Pica, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in ASL-English interpretation from RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf.

The Dean's List at SUNY Cortland for the Spring 2012 semester included: Jenna Feuerstein, a sophomore criminology major, Meghan Desmond, a senior childhood education major, Samantha Katz, a senior childhood education major; Amanda Cooper, a sophomore childhood education major; Gabrielle DeLucia, a sophomore early childhood/childhood education major; Victoria Lind, a senior early childhood/childhood education major; Courtney Psychas, a senior early childhood/childhood education major; Valerie Schwartz, a senior early childhood/childhood education major; Andrea Seidenberg, a senior early childhood/childhood education major; Brianna Kezner, a sophomore early childhood education major; Elizabeth Pahiakos, a sophomore early childhood education major; Carleigh Marvin, a sophomore inclusive special education major; Paul Fields, a sophomore physical education major; Alyssa Wixon, a senior speech and hearing science major; and Anthony D'Amico, a senior sport management major. Honorees must earn a grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while completing 12 or more credit hours of classes during the semester.

Alex Stahl received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University in Atlanta at its 167th commencement ceremony on May 14, 2012.
