The Clarkstown Town Board congratulated state champions, the New City Generals U8 Blue Team, at Tuesday night’s meeting and presented each player, manager and coach with a certificate.
On July 7th in Sloatsburg the New City Generals beat the Brooklyn Blue Storm 9-8 in a walk off win to gain the title of New York State Champions. The Generals were losing 8-5 going into their last at bat in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Coach Steve Blum said the boys keep playing hard and turned the game around. The inning started with a leadoff walk by Ryan Cullen followed by a double by Zach Selfon. Then Andre Risko hit a home run, followed with a single by Kevin Blum and another single by Lukas Egenhauser giving the team four runs in the inning for the victory.

The players on the travel baseball team come from New City and nearby communities. They are: Kevin Blum; Ryan Cullen; Owen Daly; Lukas Egenhauser; Colin Hackett; Jacob Hernandez; Michael Korchinski; Melvin Matias; Andrei Risko; Joseph Salerno and Zachary Selfon. The manager is Steve Blum and the coaches are Pat Cullen, Jim Daly and Marc Selfon.
