Daily Sports Digest: 9-10 Softball All-Stars Win District 18

The New City Little League 9-10 softball All-Stars beat Pearl River 10-0 last night at Anderson Field in Orangeburg to capture the District 18 title.

With the shutout win, New City completed an undefeated run through the tournament. The team will advance to the Section 4 tournament, with their first game on Sunday.

Regional Summer Basketball Teams Set

The second annual Basketball Coaches Association of New York Summer Hoops Festival will take place in August at Johnson City High School, which is a bit outside of Binghamton.

There will be nine teams, including one from the Hudson Valley. The boys and girls teams were recently finalized and feature players from all over Rockland and Westchester counties.
