The famous Harlem Wizards visit Rockland.
The high-flying and hilarious Harlem Wizards basketball team brings its trick hoops to Suffern. Cherry Lane’s team will feature State Senator David Carlucci, Principal Dr. David Leach, faculty members and parents from the area, and special guest, Rockland Boulder's starting pitcher, Bobby Blevins.
Suffern Chief of Police and Ramapo Central School District Board member Clark Osborne will serve as referee to keep the game fair. Prizes, souvenirs and refreshments available, free autograph session after the game. Fun for the whole family. Doors open at 1:15 p.m., game at 2 p.m. Tickets sold in advance or at the door.
The event will benefit Cherry Lane Elementary School’s cultural arts programming.
The Wizards are celebrating 50 years of their trademark on court antics: slam dunks, trick hoops, alley oops, and pure basketball virtuosity, all the while helping to raise millions for charitable organizations. A number of local businesses have signed on as corporate sponsors including Manhattan Beer Company, The Suffern Chamber of Commerce and the Ramapo Times.
