Former NY Giant Sean Landeta Makes Appearance in New City

Landeta Signs Autographs at Stop & Shop on October 8

Former NY Giant Punter Sean Landeta will visit the Stop & Shop Supermarket on North Main Street in New City on Saturday, October 8 from 12 until 1:30 p.m. Landeta will sign autographs and pose for pictures with NY Giant fans. One autographed item each and one photo per family allowed.

From 1985 to 2006, Landeta spent 10 seasons as a punter with the NY Giants.  He played in two NY Giants Super Bowl Championships, Super Bowl XXI in 1986 and Super Bowl XXV in 1990.  Landeta is the longest tenured punter in NFL history and the oldest punter to ever play in the league.  He was voted to the NFL’s All Pro Team five times, was named First Team All NFL three times, and went to two Pro Bowls during his tenure with the NY Giants.

The first punter in NFL history to play 20 years in the position, Landeta also earned the highest punting average in club history since the AFL/NFL merger 40 years ago.  He was named the first punter on the 1980s All-Decade Team and the second punter on the 1990s All-Decade Team. NFL History.net named Landeta as the punter for the NY Giants All Time Team.

Landeta was an All Conference Punter three times and was also named First Team All American Punter by Kodak and the Associated Press in 1982 during his time playing for Towson University.  He currently lives in Long Island and Bucks County, Pa. with his fiancée, Donna and son, Joey.
