The New City-Suffern-Congers 9-10 softball all-star team is 1-1 in the Eastern Regional Tournament in Old Forge, Pa., after the weekend.
The New York State champs lost to Pennsylvania, 5-2, in nine innings Saturday night. Kaitlyn Fudge pitched the first seven innings, giving up no runs for NCSC. The loss is the first loss this summer for NCSC, which went undefeated through the district, section and state tournaments.
NCSC bounced back on Sunday to beat Rhode Island 6-3. Samantha Kaner pitched a complete game for the win. Kristen Tarantino hit two triples and Lily Medici added a triple of her own.
NCSC finishes up pool play today against Maryland.
