While the 1,200-plus athletes in Rockland for the JCC Maccabi Games will spend their mornings and afternoons playing sports or volunteering, each night they have a different exciting activity. Monday, the first day of actual competition, concluded with a beach party at Germonds Park. The athletes enjoyed a cookout to go along with taking a dip in Germonds Pool and playing mini golf. There was also a large water slide set up, as well as two surfboard simulators, for the athletes.
Some of the athletes shared their thoughts and feelings on the start of the competition with the JCC Maccabi Times.
