Softball All-Stars Made An Entrance

The New City-Suffern-Congers 9-10 Softball All-Stars celebrated their Eastern Regional Championship title in style.

The New City-Suffern-Congers 9-10 Softball All-Stars arrived in a procession of flashing lights on Tuesday night. Members of the Eastern Regional Championship team rode on New City Fire Trucks from Zukor Park to Clarkstown hall.  The town board recognized the team for winning division, sectional, state and the Eastern Regional titles.

Town Councilmember Frank Borelli said the community was “blessed” to have the 9-10 year olds softball team win the Eastern Regional Championship this year and the 12-year-olds All Stars Softball team play in the Softball World Series last year.

Team Manager Tom Keaveney said the girls worked hard throughout the summer and as dedicated as they were so were their parents.  The team members are: Jenna Davida, Julianna Diaz, Kaitlyn Fudge, Sasha Goldstein, Samantha Kaner, Kimberly Kaufman, Kaitlyn Keane, Megan Keaveney, Halle Medici, Lilly Medici, Jenna O’Reilly, Kristen Tarantino and Abbey Zaslav. Eddie Fudge and Carlos Diaz are the coaches.

The Clarkstown Board of Education honored the team on Thursday and the Rockland County Legislature also congratulated them.
