Three teams from Clarkstown took championships over the weekend in the annual H in New City.
The tournament, organized by , is a fundraiser for a scholarship created in the memory of longtime ASA president . He was a longtime volunteer in youth sports organizations and was a proponent of softball programs for girls in Rockland County.
in 2010 at age 67.
The tournament featured games for girls raning in age from 9 to 14 at New City Little League's Strawtown Fields complex in New City. Ron Greene, ASA Umpires president, said the tournament provides local softball players another opportunity to play after their regular seasons have concluded.
Winners in the tournament play were:
- Clarkstown softball 14-and-under
- New City Little League 12-and-under
- Nanuet Litle League 10-an-under
Winning teams received trophies, and players received medals for participating in the tournament.
The tournament received support from New City Little League, which served as host site of the tournament. Members of Rockand ASA Umpires volunteered to officiate all the tournament games and run the event.
