Blood Drives In Memory Of McCrudden Brothers And Austin DeGiorgio

Two blood drives take place this week in memory of New City teenager Austin DeGiorgio and Clarkstown Police Officers and brothers Terrance and Christopher McCrudden.

On Thursday, Nov. 7 the New York Blood Center is holding a blood drive in memory of 15-year-old Austin DeGiorgio, who died after a long battle with leukemia in August. The blood drive in honor of the former Clarkstown South High School student takes place in the cafeteria at Felix Festa Middle School at 30 Parrott Road in West Nyack from 3:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

On Friday, Nov. 8, the “Blood Brothers” Drive will remember Clarkstown Police Officer Terrance “Terry” McCrudden and Officer Christopher “Chris” McCrudden

Officer Terry McCrudden of New City served with the department for 17 years. The 48-year-old died on October 2, 2012 after a battle with cancer. His older brother, Officer Chris McCrudden, 50, had been a member of the Clarkstown force for 24 years. The Pearl River resident passed away on March 4, 2013 after suffering complications from a recent illness.
