The volunteer group, Rebuild Hi-Tor Animal Care Center, invites the whole community to a meeting in the board room at the Orangetown Town Hall at 7 p.m., August, 14. This is the second of five planned meetings in all the towns of Rockland. The first was held in  and was a great success.

Legislator Ed Day attended and addressed the crowd about the importance of this project. And, at the Clarkstown meeting, Rebuild Hi-Tor’s Chair of Fundraising Donald Franchino asked the town of Clarkstown to pass a resolution to support the rebuild of Hi-Tor Animal Shelter–he will make this request to all the towns of Rockland.

"This is a very emotional issue. This is county-wide," said Franchino. "I'm not criticizing the county for the building that's there. I want to move forward with a positive message with this fundraising effort."

At the upcoming Orangetown public meeting, the public will have the opportunity to learn about the new shelter, ask questions and sign up for committees. Committees include: Fundraising, Correspondence, Events, Political Outreach, Corporate/Business Outreach, and Public Relations.

The key fundraiser right now is the Rebuild Hi-Tor . An order form is available at www.RebuildHiTor.org; the public can buy a brick to be inscribed with their message to be installed at the new shelter.
