Tuesday, Sept. 24

The New City Rotary hosts a guest speaker on DWI and the risks at 1 p.m. at La Terrazza at 291 South Main Street in New City. Call 845-558-8963 for more information.

The Rockland County Legislature’s Budget & Finance Committee meets at 7:15 p.m. and Planning & Public Works Committee meets at 7:45 p.m. at 11 New Hempstead Road in New City.

The Nanuet Library Board Of Trustees meets at 7 p.m. at 149 Church Street in Nanuet.

The New City Library hosts an informational program on emergency preparedness at 7 p.m.

The Clarkstown Town Board holds a workshop meeting at 7:30 p.m. at 10 Maple Ave in New City.

The Clarkstown Board of Education will meet at Clarkstown South High School at 31 Demarest Mill Road in West Nyack. The closure of the Congers Elementary School is expected to be on the agenda.

Thursday, Sept. 26

The Congers and Valley Cottage civic associations will host a Candidates’ Night with town and county hopefuls starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Congers Community Center on Gilchrest Ave.

Friday, Sept. 27

 As part of Hunger Action Month, commuters will be help “Stuff A Bus.” The bus will be parked at 5:30 a.m. and stay through the day in the commuter lot at Route 59 and the New York State Thruway in Nanuet.

Saturday, Sept. 28

Family Fall Festival organized by the Nanuet PTAs takes place at the Nanuet Outdoor Education Center on Convent Road from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Join the Annual Supervisor’s Walk at Rockland Lake State Park. The walk along Long Path begins at 9 a.m.
