happenings are for you.
Here are the details for four great events.
Where: 135 Convent Road, Nanuet/Outdoor Education Center
When: Saturday, Oct. 5 with arrival at 9 a.m. and run/walk at 10 a.m.
Cost: $25 includes a t-shirt while supplies last and refreshments, day of race entry fee is $30.
Description: About 200 people are expected to participate in the fundraiser for the Tommy Foley Therapeutic Indoor Arena. COPS Barn is COPS Barn is an equine assisted therapy program helping kids with disabilities. Register online at active.com. For more information email: CopsBarn@gmail.com
Where: St. Paul Lutheran Church, 323 South Main Street, New City
When: Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: Free admission
Description: St. Paul’s first Fall Festival will include vendors, food and fun. There will be craft, retail, and service vendors, a bake sale, food court, raffles plus activities for children. Vendors will offer personalized gifts such as jewelry, crocheted items, Christmas ornaments, wine glass coasters and bottle bags. Bring a non-perishable food item to enter the raffle. Food will go to the local food pantry and a portion of proceeds will serve neighbors in need through St. Paul's Lutheran Church Community Outreach Fund.
Where: Woodglen Elementary School, 121 Phillips Hill Road, New City
When: Saturday, Oct. 5 at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost: Free admission
Description: Support the Woodglen fifth grade class by shopping the treasures at its multi family yard sale. Browse through clothing, furniture, kid’s bikes, toys, nursery room furniture plus much more. Baked goods will also be sold.
Where: Pfizer, 401 North Middletown Road, Pearl River
When: Sunday, Oct. 6 at 9 a.m.
Description: The Walk to Cure Diabetes is held annually to benefit JDRF. Last year, the Northern New Jersey and Rockland County Chapter raised nearly $1 million and is striving to surpass last year’s total. The 5K fundraising walk is open to families, friends, individuals and corporate groups to complete at their own pace. Entertainment, games and lunch/refreshments will also be available.
