Santa Paws Is Coming To Town For Photos

There are tons of ways to keep busy around New City and Nanuet this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Here are the details for three great events.

Art For Kids Sake Art Auction

Where: Crowne Plaza Suffern, 3 Executive Blvd., Suffern

When: Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m.

Cost: $10 per person, $15 per couple

Description: The Art Auction will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County. The evening begins with hors D’oeuvres ,light dinner, desserts, a preview of the auction items, the auction and a door prize. Call 845-634-2199 or go here.

Santa Paws Photos 

Where: Club Bow Wow, 101 Route 304, Bardonia

When: Saturday, Dec. 14 from 1 to 6 p.m.

Cost: $10

Description: Take a special holiday picture of Santa Claus with your family and your beloved pets. The proceeds from the framed 4" X 6" print will go to ReBuild Hi-Tor. Pet owners can make sure their dog is ready for his or her photo and get a pre-photo doggie bath! The rates are based on the dog’s vary from $25 to $40. ReBuild Hi-Tor will receive $5 from each bath. Candlelight Tours Of The Jacob Blauvelt House

Where: Historical Society of Rockland County, 20 Zukor Road, New City

When: Sundays, Dec. 15, 22, & 29 and January 5 & 12, 2014 at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Cost: $10 for adults who are not Historical Society of Rockland County members, $8 for seniors and HSRC members, $8 and $5 for children $5. Prepaid reservations are required.

Description: Spend an enchanted evening at the historic 1832 Jacob Blauvelt farmhouse, illuminated with candlelight and lanterns, fragrant with traditional sweets, and decorated with festive greenery. Experience Dutch American holiday traditions of the 1830s with nineteenth century music and song and seasonal refreshments. Admission includes the 38th Annual Holiday Exhibition: "Simple Gifts."
