Description: The event features top high school competitors from Rockland and Westchester counties as well as New Jersey. Confirmed participants include Albertus Magnus, Alexander Hamilton, Arlington, Beacon, Clarkstown North, Clarkstown South, Cornwall, East Syracuse Minoa, Edgemont, Eldred, Fox Lane, Hackensack, Haldane, Irvington, John Jay-EF, Monroe Woodbury, Murray Bergtraum, Nanuet, Newton, North Rockland, Nyack, Ossining, Paramus, Pawling, Pearl River, Poughkeepsie, RC Ketcham, Rye, Scarsdale, Somers, St. Francis Prep (girls), Suffern, Tappan Zee, Townsend Harris, Vernon, Verona, Wayne Valley, Westlake, White Plains and Yonkers.
Comedy, Magic & Variety Show

When: Friday, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m., Sat. Dec. 28 and Sunday, Dec. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Cost: $15 per person plus service fees plus a two-item minimum
Description: Entertainer Mark Calabrese brings illusion, mystery and satire to the stage. He brings smiles to faces of all ages and will leave many scratching their heads in amazement. Candlelight Tours Of The Jacob Blauvelt House
Where: Historical Society of Rockland County, 20 Zukor Road, New City
When: Sundays, Dec. 29 and January 5 & 12, 2014 at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Cost: $10 for adults who are not Historical Society of Rockland County members, $8 for seniors and HSRC members, $8 and $5 for children $5. Prepaid reservations are required.
Description: Spend an enchanted evening at the historic 1832 Jacob Blauvelt farmhouse, illuminated with candlelight and lanterns, fragrant with traditional sweets, and decorated with festive greenery. Experience Dutch American holiday traditions of the 1830s with nineteenth century music and song and seasonal refreshments. Admission includes the 38th Annual Holiday Exhibition: "Simple Gifts."
