Football Scrimmage

Cost: Free
Description: Clarkstown South, Pearl River, Tappan Zee, Scarsdale and Mamaroneck high schools are participating in this pre-season five-team scrimmage. Section 1's high school football teams only get one scrimmage this year and most of them are taking place Saturday.
Where: Provident Bank Park, Pomona
When: Saturday, Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m.
Cost: Breast cancer survivors and patients admitted free, $1 discount for fans wearing pink, ticket prices vary
Description: The Rockland Boulders Game against the Newark Bears has been named ‘Pink in the Park’ to Support Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. There will be pink baselines, pink T-shirt giveaway, pink fireworks, pink lemonade; breast cancer survivors and those in treatment get in free.
Where: South Main Street between Congers Road and First Street in New City
When: Sunday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Rain or shine
Cost: Free admission
Description: The New City Chamber of Commerce presents the New City Street Fair with more than 100 vendors selling crafts, jewelry, food and more. Enjoy stilt walkers, balloon sculptor, costumed characters, kiddie rides and bounce houses, live entertainment and a DJ.
Family Workshop with Garden Arts for KidsWhen: Sunday, Sept. 1 at 10 a.m.
Where: Cropsey Community Farm, 220 South Little Tor Road, New City
Cost: $10 for first child, $5 each additional child. Adult must accompany children.
Description: Our final Family Sundays of the season! Join artist and garden enthusiast Robin Kereth Johnson for a magical mixture of gardening and art. Create a unique and exciting project to take home and share in your own garden. Activities are appropriate for kids ages 4 and up with their parents or guardians.
