YouthFest, Government Day and RCC Combine for Info and Fun March 30

It all starts at the community college's Fieldhouse in Suffern at 11AM.

Rockland County's 16th Annual YouthFest will be held, in conjunction with Rockland County Government Day, from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Sunday at Rockland Community College. 

Performances will take place all day—from the top picks from Rockland's Youth Got Talent competition as well as from local organizations such as The Big Apple Circus, The Bossy Frog Band, Cheer Mania and Chuck E. Cheese. 

Exhibitions include Nyack Hospital's Teddy Bear Hospital and Inflatable Party Adventures.

The part that is Government Day includes demonstrations and displays and meetups with a double handful of county departments and commissions.

"Government Day has become a hands-on way for people of all ages to learn about the taxpayer funded, vital services offered byRockland County," officials said in a press release.

Visit the Board of Elections booth and register to vote.  

Take the kids over to the Office of Fire & Emergency Services where they can dress up in Hazmat suits.

Check out the TOR bus the Department of Public Transportation will have on display, including the latest in electronic farebox technology. 

Departmental representatives will be on hand to answer resident questions and/or concerns. 

Rockland Community College will also hold its annual Open House during YouthFest, with a special section of the Fieldhouse dedicated to RCC admissions, scholarships, sports programs and more.

Admission and parking are free. Food and beverages are available for purchase.

YouthFest is organized by a volunteer committee comprised of representatives from: Rockland County Youth Bureau, Rockland Community College, H&S Sales Consultants, Inc., Liberty Mutual Insurance, Hackensack University Medical Center, New Horizons Twirlers, Hudson Valley Boy Scouts, AM/PM Consulting, Imagine Properties/Spotlight Advertising and Rockland 21st Century Collaborative for Children and Youth.
