<p>Woodglen Elementary School is one of the 11 elementary programs in the Clarkstown Central School District, which is the largest public school system in Rockland County.</p>
<p>Lisa Maher is principal at Woodglen.</p> <p>Woodglen is a culturally and economically diverse K-5 elementary school of approximately 475 students.  The largest neighborhood elementary school in the Clarkstown Central School District, Woodglen also houses a variety of district-wide special needs programs. </p> <p>A full range of related service staff provides extensive academic and counseling support for children with special needs.  An annual multicultural fair highlights the cultures and contributions of the different ethnic groups that comprise the Woodglen community. </p> <p>The school's programs include literacy instruction that emphasizes connections between reading and writing; a comprehensive math program stressing concept development and problem solving; a science program that focuses on discovery and hands-on learning; technology efforts that include a computer lab and computers in the classrooms; and, a music program for fourth- and fifth-graders, with opportunities to peform in band and string ensembles.</p> <p> </p> <p><br /> <br /> <br />  <br /> <br /></p> <p> </p>
