Admittedly it's not a big deal, but wouldn't our children benefit from actually going to school…Read More rather than trying to find loopholes to end the school year? Of course the teachers and administrators unions are in favor...why wouldn't they be? What employee wouldn't be in favor of fewer work days?
I understand that the last few days have become nonsense, but that's not right either.
It just seems odd that the school board would lobby to have less time in the classroom.

If this was in NY City the jury would have deadlocked over some supposed violation of the criminal's…Read More rights, afraid to convict him becasue he was an aspiring Rap star looking to get his life back in order. His 8th grade graduation photo would be shown over and over again to that jury telling them this was a huge mistake and that he was only using the knife to butter his roll. He would then be poised to file his multi million dollar lawsuit claiming Police Brutality becoming a millionare prisoner. You gotta Love upstate NY

It will be nice to see a hotel as we enter Nyack better then a factory

4 story former factory - that would be the Pavilion property at Hudson Ave and Depot Place. Nice…Read More location, within easy walk of river and businesses. As with former proposals for this location, vehicle traffic is an issue. If this actually moves forward, perhaps it is a good time to rethink traffic circulation in this area and elsewhere in the village

I believe the solution to these financial issues lies elsewhere, as long as we are discussing…Read More charter revisions. Having a professional, nonpartisan, experienced chief administrative officer in place of an elected county executive would achieve the desired results. The legislature would appoint this person, however having 17 legislator 'bosses' may be too many for this to be successful. County government is complicated and it is perhaps too much to expect to find a suitable candidate with hands on county government executive management from such a small population like Rockland. I am focusing more on the administrative side of the executive job description, not the leadership political side. The present issues could have been avoided with a professional administrator leading the departments taking direction from the legislature as to formulating policies. The legislature should create policy and the chief administrative officer carries it out. He or she can be held accountable at any time.

John was one of the people who inspired me to get involved with school politics. I saw him stand up…Read More and speak eloquently at the first meetings I attended a few years back. I also visited him at work one day in Town Hall so he could review some legal paperwork I was preparing. Albeit brief, I am grateful to John for the time he gave me so unselfishly and more importantly for the time he gave our children so unselfishly. He was truly a great man. Thanks, John.

It should also be noticed, that Malgeri's proposal, (that was voted down) was not to permanently…Read More instill a Japanese program. It was to leave it as is for one more year to be taken away in the way it should be, not secretly by the board, but in the budget. This would also give a yearlong opportunity for the board to delve into more research.
