You sound like a liberal Democrat with saying to everyone that disagrees with you "you soundRead More Angry" "you have anger issues" wow get a life!! Still no name? Who has issues? Look within Sigmund!!!!
Sigmund Freud May 22, 2013 at 03:33 pm
Sounds like a child just like me? Not sure what I posted that's childish. You have a lot of angerRead More within. Unresolved issues from childhood most likely.

Yes Vince I have voted in EVERY election. I consider voting a duty not a choice. I have lived in NewRead More City over 20 years. Does that meet with your required residency? Pot calling the kettle black, no? Your comments about dealing with non compilers is simply RIDICULOUS as in my opinion is your comment about work. The polls are open for FIFTEEN HOURS! Again my opinion. My comments did not indicate how I voted or try to sway your vote in anyway, simply a statement about the apathy in this town/county/country.

This whole site has turned into crap. I click to look at the news and all I see are iPod JailbreakRead More spam comments and articles. Goodbye Patch. Hello LoHud.

Agreed, we wouldn't run our household or business this way and get very far. Residents should notRead More just roll over and take the budget as is. The mall tax cert issue is real and it will be a HUGE hit financially against Clarkstown and will directly affect each and everyone one of us... that includes YOU. You can't change things by expressing your opinions on an online board. All of the school staff, teachers, etc are calling their friends and family to get them to vote yes on the budget. Want to make a difference? Call your friends, family, etc. and get out and vote NO today!
John May 21, 2013 at 09:31 am
I agree, numbers don't make sense. Which is why I'll be voting NO on the ballot.

To make reading a community event is indeed notable. Modeling delight, exploration, discovery,Read More explanation, allows the printed page to be lived as well as read.

Hey, what happened to all of you Keller-Cogan supporters? Come out come out where ever your are!!
GWashington May 15, 2013 at 03:12 pm
The woman created havoc in this district. We are still suffering the consequences of herRead More spend-thrift ways. She is a carpetbagger with no connections to the communities she torments. Vote NO on the Clarkstown School Budget, Tuesday May 21

Wow. Third time is a charm. It seems that some people are owed an apology. I'd like to know howRead More much money was wasted with all of the opposition to getting rid of her. The legal fees, lawsuits, and other costs all seem frivolous now. We definitely did not get what we paid for with her. I was never a supporter of her, but the people that were her biggest fans have not said a word, except, we need to move on. Just admit you were wrong and then we can move on. It's part of the healing process.

@God - it is great that you can admit when you are wrong. It shows growth and maturation. Well done.Read More Perhaps next you and your cronies will apologize to the board members who you sought to destroy??? What do you think? Saying the previous board was correct is only half the truth since only half the board was trying to make us aware of the problems caused by Dr. Keller-Cogan. The other half of the board enjoyed the perks that came with maintaining the status quo. Perks such as swim club use of the pool at rent below market, protection for one's wife despite sub par performance. But you and your cronies were too busy trying to blame the districts ills on Doug Katz & Phil DeGeatano.

Stephany machines break down all the time. Thank goodness only 8 gallons was spilled. There is aRead More diesel fueling station in Clarkstown executive park that is located maybe 20 feet from a stream that feeds the reservoir, now that could be a disaster....
stephany May 9, 2013 at 02:40 pm
how did it overflow 8 gallons worth is the question? assuming we believe it was only 8 gallons. whatRead More physically happened. was an employee not doing things right and put the water supply in jeopardy,,stuff like that

Yes this is great. Our students learning technology. This is the future of the marketplace in theRead More world market. Unfortunately American schools lag behind other industrialized nations in technology training. It is not for lack of funding (NYS is $20000 per student). Where is the money going? What are the public schools teaching? What are the people who set up these curriculums focussing on?

With respect to "social bullying" as opposed to physical bullying is a lack ofRead More perspective., we should have a curriculum to toughen these kids up a bit and provide the counseling they need to overcome social bullying. The parents need to participate, too. Offer psychological help to these children to understand that their self worth is not determined by what others think of them, but by what they do for others and themselves. Also, to trust themselves, to know that when they are doing the right thing and satisfied with what they are doing, it does not matter what some ignoramus says on Facebook. The problem is not the bullies, but the people who roll over in the face of the bullies' criticism and allow them to believe they are powerful.

very PC bill Here's a better quote, Might even be worse in middle school "A 2011 survey ofRead More New York State high school students revealed that during the previous year nearly 18 percent of students had been bullied on school property and 16 percent (including nearly 21 percent of girls) had been cyberbullied through e-mail, chat rooms, instant messaging, Web sites, texting or other electronic means" How many of the 16% is included in the 18%-if any ? 1++ in 5 being bullied just ain't happening..sorry not buying it. those stats say to me, that nearly 1/2 of all students are involved with bullying in one way or the other. In order to be bullied someone has to bully you and it does not have to be just 1 person doing it, and i doubt it is just 1 person very often. What's the penalty for lying about being bullied. need to cover the bases Instead if leaving the cops out of it [for the most part] you need to get them on this yesterday. It's rampant. I did see where all school personnel conveniently received immunity from civil prosecution unless they practically bully a student themself. that's a nice touch What is the penalty for any kind of bullying. Mandatory school transfer should be job 1. Make it so not worth their while to do it and they won't. Hit their social life--hard. too much discretion left to the school too.police should be notified when there is a suspicion, updated periodically and with the resolution

Stephany, a new law goes into effect July 1, 2013 that will hold schools more accountable. TheRead More district cannot ignore this issue: Takes effect July 1, 2013: “The legislature also recognizes that most cyberbullying originates off-campus, but nonetheless affects the school environment and disrupts the educational process, impeding the ability of students to learn and too often causing devastating effects on students' health and well-being.” Includes behavior that “occurs off school property and creates or would foreseeably create a risk of substantial disruption within the school environment…” http://open.nysenate.gov/legislation/bill/S7740-2011

Who will take Mr. Horan's position as A school principal?
Phil Leiter April 26, 2013 at 11:34 am
A little perspective. Excluding K-12 schools, there are more than 1,100 high schools in New YorkRead More State and nearly 25,000 high schools in the United States. That puts CHSN in the top 9% in New York and the top 4% nationwide. Not bad for a district that spends less per student than the Rockland County average.
