Rockland county government is based at New City, with the offices of County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef and theMore Rockland County Legislature at the Allison-Parris County Office Building.</p> <p>The county has a variety of offices in New City, including the county Highway Department, Veterans Services, the District Attorney, Sheriff's Department and the Rockland County Correcional Center.</p> <p>The county government also operates facilities elswhere in Rockland, such as the Dr. Robert L. Yeager County Health Center and the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona. The county also operates a local and commuter bus system, and has a variety of public parks throughout Rockland.</p> <p>In addition to administrative offices, the county supports the operation of Rockland Community College in Ramapo.</p> <p>Addition to county government, Rockland has five town governments, four of which have separate local village governments within them. Rockland also has eight public school districts and a Board of Cooperative Educational Services.</p>

Clarkstown Mini-Trans is a bus system operated by the town, within the town, with five routes run on weekdays andMore Saturdays. Dennis Malone is the Transit Supervisor, who coordinates Mini-Trans routes, schedules, fares, and related commuter transportation information.</p> <p>Riders can flag down a bus at any safe stopping spot along one of the Mini-Trans routes. The basic fare is $1.50, with 30-cent transfers to other Mini-Trans buses of Transport of Rockland (TOR) buses. The fare for senior citizens and persons with disabilities is 40-cents. Super Saver Coupons are sold and accepted on the Mini-Trans buses.</p> <p>Mini-Trans does not operate on Sundays and on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.</p>
