Now, that the con job perpetrated by the four RINOs, 1) County Legislator Frank Sparaco, 2) Highways Superintendent Wayne Ballard, 3) Chairman of the Rockland Republican Party Vincent Reda, and 4) Chairman of the Clarkstown Republican Committee Bob Axelrod, on the good people of Rockland County was an epic failure; there is an opportunity to rescue the vestiges of decency of our local political system from the hands of those who have besmirched it.
The paint can of political corruption that Frank Sparaco attempted to splash upon others has backfired leaving him painted red from head to toe in self inflicted disgrace and embarrassment.

Sparaco’s “sphere of influence” was a veiled reference to those minor party leaders who have the sole authority to sign a document, commonly referred to as a “Wilson-Pakula” that permits a candidate of another party to be placed on the ballot of a different party and run on that line as well as their own. These individuals thus manipulate an election and ensure that the candidate they wish to place in office is unopposed or opposed by a candidate who agrees not to try to win. This is the currency of their insidious trade and is the influence they attempt to barter for political patronage jobs, contracts, and retainer fees all charged to the taxpayers.

Some short sighted periodical editors under the influence of more than oxygen, with a vested self interest in keeping Reda and the rest in place, have suddenly reversed themselves. They are spinning this con-job perpetrated against the people of this County, as if Columbus just discovered America.
The offense that Sparaco and his cohorts are under investigation for is called, "influence peddling". Influence peddling is a felony.
Influence peddling is why the FBI swooped into Rockland County and arrested another RINO player, Bronx GOP Chairman Jay Savino. Savino and Sparaco were both rewarded with no-show jobs by Clarkstown’s Democrat Supervisor Gromack, who claims his decision was based solely on the strength of their superior intellectual qualifications above and beyond all other applicants. According to Gromack their appointments in his administration had nothing to do with undermining Republican challengers or delivering the coveted “Wilson-Pakula” to him and his allies.
Alas, Mr. Sparaco never taped his meetings with Supervisor Gromack - or did he?
Sparaco’s transparently phony press conference was presented to the citizens of Clarkstown as an altruistic and self-sacrificing act but in reality it was akin to that of a thief who would video-tape himself in an act of burglary and then in his own defense would claim: “I was acting to expose how easy it was to rob this house."
According to Sparaco: “My integrity is not for sale". Certainly his mother-in-law's integrity WAS for sale working with him to take over the Independence Party. She went to prison for four months. Her attorney, Jay Savino, has an "integrity" that is about to land him in jail for corruption. Sparaco's "integrity" has not yet landed him in jail but it is most clearly for rent in Clarkstown at a rate of $75,000 part-time. His Clarkstown patronage job provided by Gromack and funded by Ballard using taxpayers’ funds screams disdain for the intellectual capacity of all taxpayers. Perhaps taxpayers are beginning to see through the Gromack - Ballard - Sparaco line of poorly rehearsed explanations described as "cost savings".

The best laid schemes of these MICE and RINOs have clearly gone awry. The Rockland County Republican pretenders to leadership have abdicated all claims as moral and ethical political leaders.
Mr. Axelrod has reported that there is no Republican opposition to challenge Democrat Gromack for Town Supervisor because his selected candidate has abruptly withdrawn. [ We wish Mr. Reverso well.]
Mr. Reda and Mr. Axelrod have once again added to a long train of intellectually dishonest behaviors that have betrayed our trust, squandered the good name of the Republican Party, and committed the single most unforgivable infraction of all - treated the good people of Rockland County as MORONS to be MILKED.
Now it will fall to the voters and taxpayers to seize their opportunity election day to put a stop to the 'milking'. Perhaps, eventually return at least one 'RINO' back to kissing pinky rings in the penny gumball business or into the custody of the FBI, where he and this ilk belong.
