Author Judith Viorst Visits Rockland!
Judith Viorst
– bestselling author of poetry, fiction and
non-fiction for children and adults – will visit the Rockland Jewish Community
Campus on October 30 to talk about Suddenly
Sixty and Other Shocks of Later Life, a title in Viorst’s beloved “decade”
series of age-related poetry. The event is presented by Rockland Jewish Family Service (www.rjfs.org) and is open to people of all faiths.

"decade" series – including It's Hard to Be Hip Over Thirty, How
Did I Get to Be Forty, and Forever Fifty – has delighted millions of
readers worldwide who relish Viorst’s wit, warmth, and wisdom. Suddenly Sixty
is a funny and touching book that speaks directly to the sixty-ish woman,
inviting her to laugh about, sigh over, and come to hopeful terms with the
complex issues of this decade of life.
Judith Viorst will be on hand to autograph books following
her talk in Rockland on October 30. The event begins at 7:30 PM; admission is $20
for those who register on or before October 25, $25 after Oct. 25 and $10 for

Losses, which appeared on The New York Times bestseller list for almost two
years. Viorst is well-known for her children’s books including the classic, Alexander
and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. She is a graduate of the
Washington Psychoanalytic Institute and the recipient of various awards for
her journalism and psychological writings.
