Parents and
students can learn more about and register for a new college readiness program
for students with special needs at an Open House on Wednesday, August 21, from
10 am to noon, at Rockland Community College's Technology Center - Room 8150 – Accessibility Services.

RCC’s

had few inclusion experiences in their high school. Offering basic academic
courses, social growth opportunities and college readiness experiences, the
program will run from 9 am to 3 pm for three days a week. CORE will run for the
Fall and Spring semesters (September 23, 2013 to December 20, 2013 and January
22, 2014 to May 9, 2014), on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The
tuition for the program (both semesters) is $3,000 and includes all materials. Financial
aid is not available since this is a non-credit bearing program but payment
plans are available. Curriculum includes English, math, and computers, with a
focus on developing social skills, college readiness skills, and preparation
for college placement exams. Students will be able to participate in student
clubs and other College activities at RCC.
