Twippy the Clown Endorses Ed Day for County Executive

New City, NY (June 27, 2013) – Coming on the heels of their hotly contested primary kicking off, the various Democratic candidates have seen a wave of endorsements by longtime career politicians.  Legislator Ed Day, meanwhile, has received an endorsement from a different source (if only slightly so).

Twippy the Clown, longtime entertainer of children and balloon animal sculptor, formally announced her support for Ed as Rockland’s next County Executive.  “I am taking this opportunity to endorse Ed Day for County Executive,” said the 28 year veteran of the Rockland kids’ party scene.  “If he doesn't get voted into office, I'm packing up my circus tent and moving to Myrtle Beach!” she added, inducing a mild panic amongst young parents across the County.

Day stated that he was honored to accept the endorsement.

“Any time you receive an endorsement from an entrepreneur who has contributed to bringing cheer to kids and created lifelong memories for families it’s obviously an honor – and I can say with certainty that Twippy has never raised taxes on anyone, nor is she in danger of getting wrapped up in any investigations, which seems to be a rarity here,” Day observed dryly.

Reached for comment, his Campaign Manager Chris Day added that youth voter outreach and registration has been a major effort of the campaign, and that we can “really expect this endorsement to carry weight with the key 7-and-under demographic.”

Twippy’s final statement included a call to action to Rocklanders of all political (and sartorial) stripes: “Get out and vote for Ed, and make it ‘A New Day for Rockland!’”
