Hundreds Gather For Officer McCrudden's Funeral

The 48-year-old police officer died on Tuesday.

Clarkstown Police Officer Terrance “Terry” McCruden, of New City, died Tuesday and was buried Saturday in St. Anthony Cemetery in Nanuet. A service was held before the burial at St. Augustine's Church in New City.

A portion of Main Street was shut down in front of St. Augustine. A New City Fire Department fire truck was parked on the street with a large American flag hung from the bottom of the truck’s outstretched ladder. Hundreds of police officers lined up outside the church while a motorcade of police vehicles, the flower car, hearse and family and friends’ cars made their way to the church. A pipe and drum band played music while the casket, draped in an American flag, was carried into the church.

After the service, the motorcade made its way to Nanuet for the burial. The hundreds of police officers were transported in two school buses.
