Former President Bill Clinton Endorses David Fried

Endorsement of county executive candidate shared at Sunday fundraiser

 

Former President Bill Clinton has formally endorsed David Fried in the race for Rockland County executive. Congresswoman Nita Lowey delivered news of the endorsement of the former Spring Valley Justice at a Sunday night fundraiser. 

President Clinton gave the following endorsement: “I worked closely with David Fried when he served in my administration, traveling the country and world with me and Hillary. I have followed his career and I believe he has the vision and experience to lead Rockland forward to a new era of fiscal responsibility and government accountability. I am happy to endorse my friend David Fried for Rockland County Executive.”

Fried, a Democrat, served as a presidential advance aide for the Clinton Administration from 1998 to 2001.

“I am proud and humbled that President Clinton has the confidence in my experience and skills to trust that I am the best person to lead Rockland County out of the financial crisis facing our community,” said Fried.

His campaign manager Stephen Papas said they expect Former President Clinton to come to Rockland to personally support Fried’s candidacy.

Approximately 40 people attended the fundraiser hosted by Adam and Denise Lipson of Upper Grandview.

The other Democratic county executive hopefuls are Legislator Ilan Schoenberger, Suffern Mayor Dagan Lacorte and Vladimir Leon. Legislator Ed Day is the only Republican in the race.
