New City Little League Tournament Benefits ARC

Today: Skills competitions and games at Zukor Park in New City.

The 2012 ARC Tournament hosted by New City Little League kicked off Thursday night at Zukor park in New City and continues with baseball action through the weekend. 

In the first round of play, Haverstraw fell to Pearl River, Suffern defeated East Ramapo, Congers lost to Ramapo and West Nyack beat New City. 

Today, the skills completion promises to thrill fans with the Fastest Man completion, the Outfield Throw and the crowd favorite Home Run Derby.  The Skills competition begins at 11 a.m. at Zukor Park.

In addition, games are scheduled throughout the day today and Sunday and continue on Monday and Tuesday. The Tournament Grand Finale is next Wednesday with the championship game.

Funds raised at the tournament, which includes 50-50 raffles, go to ARC of Rockland. Several local businesses are sponsoring the tournament and the games are being officiated by volunteers from Rockland ASA Umpires.
